About us
Our mission is to create an inclusive, supportive community where handlers and dogs of all levels can discover the joy of scent work. Through training, events, and mentorship, the Adirondack Scent Work Club encourages growth, connection, and the powerful partnership between dog and handler.
Our Philosophy
At Adirondack Scent Work Club, we believe in building confident, enthusiastic search dogs while respecting the individual dog in front of us.
We believe in thoughtful training, quality reinforcement, clear communication, and allowing dogs to learn to solve problems rather than constantly solving those problems for them.
We also believe that going back to the basics isn’t going backward.
Clean, confident searches matter. Strong odor commitment matters. Learning to read your dog matters. Developing independent search skills matters.
And sometimes the best thing you can do for an advanced dog is put a single hide in a simple environment and let them be brilliant.
